Recent Article came up through the Associated Press:
I think this is a good thing for Nevada. The only problem, he will want to be MORE involved in politics. I think Sandoval was not a very good judge, so again, bad job Reid. There are many more state court judges that would do a MUCH better job, please don't look to the BK Court this time. Save us all from the incompetence. At least Sandoval is out of the judiciary, though. Who will replace him? Likely another political appointee of Harry Reid, which has not proven to be much in the past (but I do think Dawson is excellent)...so all you Harry Reid donators, you better get out your campaign contribution checkbooks if you want to be in the running. I know you guys hate it when I state reality, but OH WELL, no its not quid pro quo, but it is sure a lot like quid pro quo/who ya know.

CARSON CITY, Nev.—U.S. District Judge Brian Sandoval said Friday he was resigning, opening the possibility that he will return to Nevada politics.
"I have decided to resign my commission as a federal judge effective Sept. 15, 2009," Sandoval said in a statement distributed by Chief Judge Roger Hunt. "It has been a privilege and an honor to serve on the federal bench and I thank my fellow judges, my staff and the entire court family for their support."
Sandoval did not return calls to his office seeking comment.
Sandoval is a former state assemblyman, chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission and the first Hispanic elected statewide in Nevada.
He was recommended for the federal judgeship by U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., with the backing of Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., and was nominated by former President George H. Bush.
He assumed the bench in 2005.
In his political career, Sandoval was a seen as a rising star in the Republican party and is viewed as a strong challenger to Gov. Jim Gibbons in next year's GOP primary.
A poll conducted in May for the Las Vegas Review-Journal said only 11 percent of voters surveyed statewide would re-elect Gibbons, a former congressman from Reno in his first term as governor.
Gibbons, who is also going through a bitter public divorce, has said he will seek re-election. Other Republicans who have announced intentions to run are former state Sen. Joe Heck and former North Las Vegas Mayor.
In my LU Opinion: He is just a quitter. Being a Judge must not have been visible enough OR he didn't like the hard work. But I guess if you can try to get a job that pays more, has more power, and their is less work, in Nevada you do it. Nice pick for Judge, Harry Reid, you picked a real quitter that looks like he is going to run against your son for Governor.
