SO, its all over the Blawgosphere. ATL has been sued!! Here we go, ATL loses their virginity via the lawsuit Donald Jones v. David Minkin, David Lat & Dead Horse Media, Inc. (click HERE for a copy of the lawsuit). Just like in real life, anyone can sue for anything, right? So when we write these Blawgs, we expose ourselves to our recorded opinions, thoughts and, yes, even our parody, being construed as defamation. I know. Whatever. Click HERE for the content that is the basis of the ATL lawsuit. Obviously NOT defamation.
On the up side, maybe we will get some entertainment out of this one. Unfortunately some other Blawg is going to have to cover it. It looks like ATL may control their words a little tighter "out of respect for the judicial process."
As for this being the end, sorry, this is only the beginning for ATL. Unfortunately, when they began a "legal tabloid", they were always going to be sued. The question is only how often and for how much. It will be a sad day for us all if anyone ever wins, though.
