Monday's Motion Day: 11-2-09

Historically, Mondays used to be "motion day" in Las Vegas Courts. Since the RJC was built, this collegial culture has slowly disappeared and newer attorneys don't even know that it ever existed. In years gone by, though, Mondays were the days that we all went to Court before 9:00 am (civil hearing times), we would stand in line and talk, we would meet out front on the steps, we would enjoy a quick cup of coffee, we would engage in good conversation and promote a slap of gossip. This would continue into the Courtrooms where there was always a lot of chatter about the judges, attorneys, firms and staff. That is all gone. In that memory, here I'll give a weekly summary of all things Vegas legal . . some news . . . some gossip . . . some blog review . . . submissions suggested . . . just like the old days.

11-2-09: Blawg Review #236 is hosted this week by NY Personal Injury Attorney and this week's Boogeyman-themed BR is entertaining, informative and funny. As usual, the BR universe does not dissappoint.

11-2-09: You can't miss this story about a law degree recipient (disbarred in Nebraska in 1993) though not an attorney anymore, that has been practicing law in Las Vegas and allegedly stealing clients' money "without a law license" for about 10 years. He got caught the same way attorneys usually do, their clients get pissed when the attorney steals their money . . . and he didn't even have to maintain a trust account. (See WWL & LVSun & LVSun2)

10-31-09: Local Las Vegas attorney, Raymond James Duensing, resists arrest and is shot & tased by police. Duensing's "friend" reports to the Review Journal that Duensing was being stopped for a traffic violation and likely freaked out after he was tased. However, he was not shot until he reached for the gun in his pocket. (LVRJ)

10-29-09: You know news is slow when reporters are noting this story. Michael Jackson's MD is going to appear in a Las Vegas court on November 16, 2009 for a child support matter. What? Why do we care...

10-21-09: In this story, two well-known Las Vegas attorneys have withdrawn from representing Mr. Watanabe in the defense of an action against him for his $14.7 million debt to Harrah's. It appears that the Nebraska philanthropist is arguing that the "resorts kept him constantly intoxicated," so he does not have to pay his gambling debt. Interesting!? (LVSun).

It may be years afore the bloom appulse of the avant-garde Christian Shoes
can be evaluated, describes Christian Louboutin Sandals
as orthopedically unsound. Why not accept a brace of Christian Louboutin Pumps
acceptable for ourselves, is aswell actual important to highlight a self-personality, like Christian Louboutin Boots
.
