Strippers In A Box, Las Vegas' Latest Legal Battle Over Bodies

.
As usual, our strippers are pushing the envelope. Their latest idea, box up a bunch of strippers in their panties and barely bra and run them down the Las Vegas Strip in the back of a truck. Oh, its that good, or...bad.

Of course, this idea is making the strip club's business 'boom', understandably. However, the legal 'boom' is going to be striking, too. The question is already set to be discussed by the County Commission. However, knowing some locals, there may be a lawsuit filed before it can get to the County Commission. Just ask the parents at Green Valley High School. If they are reading, I'm going to suggest not bring your high schoolers to the Strip, it is still PG-13.

I expect that there are several violations of city ordinances here, maybe even some state laws. I would guess that the main one is the lack of a licenses to perform on the street. I know its the Wild Wild West, but we, too, have licenses for that kind of thing here. While they are not making money on the spot, they are making money through this activity. I love how the strip clubs always seem to find the legal loopholes and think outside the box, or in this case inside the glass box.

"Commissioners Steve Sisolak and Chris Giunchigliani believe the truck is in violation of the law, which they say prohibits advertising-only vehicles. They are also concerned that the truck could cause accidents if drivers pay more attention to the dancers than the road. However, according to Metro Police, "as long as the truck isn’t impeding traffic, it’s legal." The Strippers In A Box is set for discussion at the County Commission Meeting on Tuesday, November 17, 2009. (LVSun).

The County will not be thinking in terms of traffic and Metro will not be thinking is terms of licensing, so the result, instant loophole.

While there may or may not be a seat belt violation, who knows, one thing is for certain, of all the violations that may or may not exist, there certainly won't be a violation for 'indecent exposure'. (LVNow)

The funniest comment I've seen around town on this issue comes from LarryVegas. He says,

"Have they published a schedule of the 'truck' yet?

I want to take a lawn chair and a cooler down to the strip and watch the show. Maybe I should take a bicycle so I can ride along side and not miss any of the show.

What could be better... Hung up in traffic beside this piece of humanity..." (LVSun)

See FOX or Channel 8 for video.

UPDATE: (11-13-09, 6:45 pm PST) See HERE. I guess we have found what is "too much" for Vegas. Who'd a thunk it?

I reside here in Las Vegas, and I rarely go to the strip. My girlfriend and I met some out-of-town friends at Margaritaville last Saturday, and while waiting, we literally both rubbernecked as the stripper truck drove by. "That's so hot" said my girlfriend(she is a keeper for sure), and being a marketing enthusiast, i applaud the efforts to one up the competition...better than those damn flappers!

I think this strippers in a box campaign will be successful in Vegas. But it will not be tolerated anywhere else. It looks fun though.
