Why Not Enact "Public Financing" For Judicial Elections?

OK, so you all know that I am NOT and will NEVER be for judicial appointment. Those that disagree think I am silly, ignorant or both. Those that agree know of my wisdom. Well, we've discussed, briefly a hybrid...no, not the Missouri Method. I know that is on the ballot. What I'm talking about is 'candidate financing'...yes, spending more money. While not a good idea generally, it is better spent on informing the public of the lunacy of current judges and the accomplishments and sanity of several candidates.

We should be thinking in terms of who will serve justice and when the candidates have to resort to begging for money and returning favors from the bench, we have obliviated justice. So this current system does not work, AGREED. But neither will this proposed 'Misouri Method". It still does not address the main problem, MONEY...for promoting a condidate. If the public can actually get informed about the candidates, maybe they could actually make smart decisions.

What should it look like? It should be mandatory & no should not be allowed to spend their own money, unless we put a cap on it, something very small $5,000-$10,000. No seat buying.

The truth is that Public Financing supports a diverse bench, well educated practitioners, practical and even minded parties. Without it we get judges that are used to giving and taking favors and who have perfected the art of 'you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours.' Otherwise they lose.
